ABSTRACT

The study investigated the effects of teachers' qualifications and instructional materials on the effective teaching of computer education. Conducted among 109 computer science students in selected senior secondary schools in Egor LGA, the research aimed to explore the relationship between teacher qualifications and the teaching of computer science, the impact of instructional materials, the most effective materials for teachers with different qualifications, and solutions to improve teaching effectiveness. The study utilized a descriptive survey design, gathering data through questionnaires. The data was analyzed using mean and standard deviation tables, and the instrument's validity and reliability were confirmed through expert validation and a trial test.

Key findings from the study revealed that teacher qualification alone does not solely determine the effectiveness of teaching computer science. The use of various instructional materials, such as educational software tools, digital libraries, interactive whiteboards, and video tutorials, significantly contributes to teaching practices. Effective instructional tools identified include multimedia presentations, interactive learning platforms, case studies, real-life examples, and project-based assignments. The study also highlighted solutions to enhance teaching effectiveness, such as ongoing professional
