ABSTRACT
The paper examined examine the effects of Covid -19 on education in the university of Benin. Employing convenience sampling technique, 100 respondents were selected ramdomly to represent the sample. The data collected were analysed using frequency counts, simple percentages. The study revealed 61% of the respondents had seen the university’s efforts to promote social distancing as a major factor that led to the university being unable to promote hostel spaces for its students. The study revealed that the Covid-19 pandemic was an event that had completely taken away by surprise and the University wasn't left out from it. The study recommended We recommend that university administrators take aggressive, proactive steps to support the mental health and educational success of their students at all times, but particularly during times of uncertainty and crisis–notably, the COVID-19 pandemic.
