ABSTRACT

This study explores the impact of parent-child communication on the academic performance of University of Benin undergraduates. Through surveys, we aim to understand how communication styles, frequency, and content affect students' educational outcomes. The findings will provide valuable insights for counsellors, Psychologists, parents, and educators to enhance student success." The study adopted the descriptive survey research design. This Survey research required the systematic collection of data or information from samples of a population using questionnaires. A sample size of One thousand six hundred and eighty (1680) students from 3 different departments in the Faculty of Education, University of Benin . This study investigated how parent-child communication influences the academic performance of University of Benin undergraduates. By examining communication patterns that helped to uncover valuable insights that benefits both parents and students in improving their communication and also the student’s academic performance.
