ABSTRACT

This study examines the predominance of nutritional diseases on the growth and development of children of aged 0-5 years in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo state. This research conducted in Ovia North East Local Government shows pervasiveness of nutritional diseases such as malnutrition, obesity, marasmus, developmental abnormalities and other micro nutrient deficiencies in the susceptible age group and indicates the importance of understanding their potential impact on early childhood development.

These research also aim at contributing to the knowledge base of public health and child development.  Findings from this study are expected to inform targeted interventions policies and educational initiatives aimed at promoting optimal nutrition and fostering healthy development in young children. Ultimately the research seeks to present the significance of addressing nutritional diseases in early childhood as a critical component of ensuring a healthy and thriving future generation.

Since malnutrition is a global problem in both the developed and developing World. Poverty and a lack of understanding of nutrition happens to be the leading causes. The researcher can help control the disease of malnutrition with better worldwide educational support including creating awareness for the need of clean water intake, nutritious whole food and medicine. Parents who may not be able to advocate for their children are especially at risk and may need closer attention paid to their diet and health condition.
