ABSTRACT

This research study examined the effect of gender inequality on women employment opportunities in Ovia- North East Local Government Area of Edo State. The quantitative method of research was employed for the study and the survey design was adopted as the research design for the study. A sample size of one hundred (100) respondents was randomly taken using the simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used for collecting data was the questionnaire which is a primary instrument for data collection. While the content validity was used for validation and the test retest method was used to determine the reliability of the instrument. The statistical package for social science (SPSS) was used to analyze the data and the frequency distribution and simple percentage method was employed for this study. The study showed that most women are highly qualified for employment in Nigeria but are not employed due to different factors such as gender inequalities.
