The study examined the effect of drug abuse on Nigeria Undergraduate (A Case Study of University of Benin Students). The objective of the study was to determine the factors responsible for drug abuse among undergraduate students of University of Benin; to ascertain the effect of drug abuse among undergraduate students of University of Benin; to investigate the impact of drug abuse on the education of undergraduate students in the University of Benin and to assess the prevalence of drug abuse amongst University of Benin students. The survey research design was adopted for this study. 400 copies of questionnaire were distributed to participants in University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State. Data collected were analyzed using frequency count, percentages, and mean with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 24.0. The empirical result revealed that alcohol and drug consumption have some detrimental effects on student’s cognitive abilities; that students become less serious in their academic work as well as make them unable to keep up with their studies and that drug abuse has negative effect on undergraduate students' academic performance. The study recommend that there is also need to involve all the stakeholders including the school administration, lecturers, parents and the community around the university in the effort to create awareness on harmful effects of drug abuse among the university students.
