ABSTRACT
This research work examined the impact of the effect of child abuse on child development: A case study of Egor Local Government Area. The objective of the study is to examine the prevailing causes of child abuse in relation to their development in Egor Local Government Area; to ascertain the effect of child abuse and how it affects their development in Egor Local Government Area; to examine the challenges of reducing child abuse as it affects their development in Egor Local Government Area; and to ascertain the social work intervention strategies for the curbing of child social abuse in Egor Local Government Area.
This study utilized the survey research design in which questionnaires was used to collect data from the respondents for the analysis. Descriptive statistical tools of data analysis was deployed in the analysis of data derived from the field. The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS 21) was used to analyze data gotten from the field.
