ABSTRACT
This work is aimed at designing and implementing a Progressive Web App (PWA) based student information management system to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of course advising and support student success in universities. The methodology followed the scrum approach, the project was divided into 3 key phases, planning, sprint, and closure. The major technologies used in the implementation of the system are React.js in designing the frontend for simplicity and modularity, Node.js for the backend to support multiple synchronous activities, and MongoDB for the database. The system was designed to provide a userfriendly and efficient solution for managing student information The results of the study showed that the PWA based student information management system was well-received by course advisers and students, who found it easy to use and efficient in managing student information. The system provided significant improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of course advising, and supported the academic success of students.
