ABSTRACT
The project is titled ―The Design and construction of a mobile solar power station . The project aims to design and construct a mobile solar power station to provide power supply for the critical loads present in rural areas where there is insufficient power supply.
The purpose of this project is to design and construct a 1.5KVA 220V inverter at 50Hz which incorporates 2 PV system and 2 deep cycle batteries which are connected in series. This project also presents the various test result from the test carried out in the course of this project where a laptop and some cell phones were powered. It involves using monocrystalline solar panel to capture solar energy from the sun to charge the batteries, incorporating a MPPT charge controller to the PV panel to prevent overcharging and protect against over-voltage for the batteries. It also involves using deep cycle batteries to store DC voltage from the Solar panel and also involves an inverter to convert DC voltage from the battery into AC voltage needed for the critical loads in the department.
