ABSTRACT
This study titled: “The Concept of Sacrifice in Igbo and Catholic Church” aimed at examining the nature of sacrifice in the Igbo society and Catholic Church. This research adopts the qualitative method which involves interviews, journals, books and articles. The study found that there are many misconceptions about the nature of sacrifice in the Catholic Church and Igbo society, people have idea of sacrifice as diabolic and practiced by evil people. It is therefore recommended that people have a better understanding of the roles of sacrifice as well as the positive and negative aspect of sacrifice in the Igbo society and Catholic Church.
