ABSTRACT

This study investigated the effects of hydro-methanol and acetone fractions on kidney function in a rat model of hypertension and diabetes. The results showed no significant difference in creatinine clearance between normotensive/non-diabetes control and hypertension/diabetes control groups. Additionally, neither hydro-methanol nor acetone fractions showed a significant increase or decrease in creatinine clearance compared to the hypertension/diabetes control group. Urea clearance values were identical across all groups. The findings suggest that the hydro-methanol and acetone fractions may not have had a significant effect on kidney function in the hypertension/diabetes model. Further research is needed to confirm these findings and elucidate the mechanisms by which these extracts affect kidney function.
