ABSTRACT

This study examines the challenges and statistical implications of computer-based testing (CBT) on Nigerian students, with a focus on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams. It investigates the technical, infrastructural, and psychological obstacles encountered by candidates, and evaluates performance data to assess CBT's impact on student outcomes. The research aims to provide insights into the effectiveness, equity, and fairness of CBT in Nigeria, offering recommendations for enhancing test administration and policy. By analyzing JAMB as a case study, the project highlights broader issues relevant to the adoption of digital assessment methods in developing countries.
