ABSTRACT

The study examined the causes of examination malpractices in some selected schools in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State. The method of data collection that was drawn is through the aid of questionnaire. 100 copies of the questionnaire were produced and distributed to the sampled population by the researcher. The population of the study consists of students and teachers in Okpoba-Okha local government. The study therefore make the following recommendations that: the government should give proper and adequate security to safeguard the question paper anyone caught in the act should be severely

dealt with, the government should increase the salaries of teachers and payment should be made on regular basis, Parents should be encouraged from buying questions paper for their children in order to allow their children read their books and prepare adequately for their examination, students should prepare adequately before going in for any examination, teachers who indulge in teaching students during examinations should avoid such, students should be well taught before they sit for any examination and Adequate classroom should be provided in order to prevent cheating.
