ABSTRACT
This study examines the causes and effects of stigmatization on children with intellectual disability in Benin City: a case study of Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. To be able to achieve the above purpose, the following test was carried out. The population of the study was collected from students in the aforementioned local government area. The instrument used for the study was the questionnaire which was validated by the supervisor and two experts in the field. The data gathered were mainly analyzed by simple percentages and tables. The study further revealed the causes of stigma towards intellectual disabled children and the simple random method was used to select the respondents in order to give every members of the population an equal chance of being selected.
