SUMMARY
This research examines the demonstration of magic realism in the selected African movies and focuses on the negative impacts of the use of magical realism in African movies. In order to achieve this, the researcher examines the history of magical realism, as well was 5he features of magical realism inherent in the selected movies. Also examined, is the application of magical realism in the plays, as well as the areas in which magical realism in African movies can be exploited negatively.
This thesis also highlights the nature of magical realism in African movies, and the common literary device they possess. This research also views Magical realism a narrative technique, and provides an understanding of what magical realism is and is not. It also derives themes that are applicable to common societal matters.
