ABSTRACT
The study explored the The research investigated the awareness and Use of blockchain technology to enhance information service delivery in Edo State Nigerian Academic libraries.. The study covered all the library staff in John Harris Library, University of Benin, Benson Idahosa University and Igbinedion University. The objectives of the study was to examine the level of awareness of blockchain technology among librarians in academic libraries in Edo state, to explore the various types of blockchain technology that can be used to enhance information service delivery in libraries, to assess the Use of blockchain technology in enhancing information service delivery in academic libraries, to identify the challenges affecting the use of blockchain technology in improving information service delivery in academic libraries in Edo state and to provide strategies to promote the use of blockchain technology among librarians to enhance information service delivery in academic libraries in Edo state. A total of 231 copies of the questionnaires were distributed to the respondents and 208 questionnaires were retrieved and found usable, resulting to a 90% response rate.
