Summary
This chapter centres on the summary of findings, conclusion and recommendation on the study carried out on the assessment of the challenges faced by the elderly in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Benin City, Edo state.
The findings of this work have been derived from the answers to the Research Questions. The work sought to answer the questions on the assessment of the challenges faced by the elderly in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.
It was found in the study that elderly in Ikpoba-Okha are able to perform basic activities of daily living effectively such as bathing, dressing, using toilet, feeding & eating and walking.
It was discovered that the elderly in Ikpoba-Okha are unable to perform instrumental activities of daily living such as laundry and taking medication. However, most elderly in Ikpoba-Okha are able to perform instrumental activities of daily living such as shopping, house cleaning & keeping and taking transportation.
