SUMMARY
The study examined the degree of awareness, level of application and effects of Linear programming (LP) model on the operations and financial performance of Nigerian organisations. The results showed a high level of awareness about the technique among managerial staff even though their application of the technique was very low. Also the findings indicated that Linear Programming (LP) model technique have had no effect on the financial performance of Nigerian organisations. One possible explanation for this occurrence Is that many managerial staff have a weak mathematical background which makes them uncomfortable with the technique. Also, they get confused when attempting to reduce real like practical problems into a mathematical form, which requires the formulation of an objective function and a set of explicit and implicit constraints. However, there is cause for cheer. The era of globalisation and internet connectivity have ushered in new frontiers in the application of Linear computations are now increasingly becoming matters for computers rather than Programming model. Complex model the human brain. Products are no longer manufactured only for local markets but also for international markets as well.
