ABSTRACT
Aesthetics play a crucial role in the realm of fashion. Designers draw on artistic principles, such as color theory, proportion, balance, and textures, to create a visually appealing garment. Nigerian textiles offer a unique and vibrant palette for fashion designers seeking to create clothing that not only embodies tradition but seeks to resonate with modern sensibilities. This research therefore explores the profound aesthetic relevance of incorporating the Nigerian fabrics into contemporary fashion designs. Using Mavid collection Exhibition as a case study, the study created and made dresses using different fabrics in Nigeria for visual perception and understanding of the research. Relevant literatures to the research were consulted in addition to the practical dimension of the research. This research highlights the undeniable aesthetic relevance of incorporating Nigerian fabric into contemporary fashion design.
