In conducting this research, a literature-based methodology was employed, where secondary data, in the form of books, newspapers, online articles/journals, and reports, that have been written on the topic, were critically analysed to draw up adequate information on the activities of terrorist insurgency and it implications on the human security of the country. Many variables can be showed as main driving force that motivates terrorist activities in the region such as poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, under-development/education defiance region and neglects by government. Findings in the review shows that absence of government support for military and low upright; absence of government political will to battle the revolt; political interest all contribute in late opportunity to the ascent of terrorist activities in Lake Chad. Finding uncovered that the expansion in terrorist activities in recent time in the region have negatively impact on the socio political/economic activities and these is due partly to increase in terrorist financing.
