ABSTRACT

The importance of public procurement can be perceived through the opening up of cities, provision of infrastructure, and improvement of the quality of life of the citizen. However, during the process of procurement, there might be loopholes which corrupt government officials may use as an advantage to embezzle government funds. Therefore, this study is aimed at identifying ways which technology can limit fraud that exist in procurement in the public sector. This study recommends areas in the public sectors that need to be digitalized using e-procurement technologies to eradicate corrupt behaviors/actions. Improvement in proper accountability of public funds using digital solutions is also shown and also how the life of an asset can be extended in this modern day.
