ABSTRACT

This study focused on team work and employee performance with a case study of senior technical staff of the University of Benin. The study adopted survey research which focuses on Senior Technical Staff of University of Benin. Based on this, the study reviewed communication, commitment; contribution and cooperation are factors that influence teamwork and employee performance. Communication is very important in teamwork, without effective communication, there is no way each member can organize their self in achieving a particular goal, and communication is the building block of communication. Commitment is an important factor in teamwork on employee performance, from the analysis it was discover that without member commitment to achieve a goal, it will lead to waste of time, every member is important in teamwork, and members’ commitment is forces that drive the team to achieve the set goal. Contribution, teamwork is all about combine effort. Contribution to the team is what makes a team to be efficient and effective every members contribute in one way or the other to the success of the team. Corporation boast team members, corporation between one or two person make work easier and result are been produce effectively. The impact of communication among team members on employee performance in a company is significant. The contribution of a team has a positive effect on employee performance within a corporation. Managers must therefore make an effort to ensure that each team has the necessary talent to enable the team to function well without having skill imbalance that harm other team members.
