ABSTRACT

This research work teaching practice experience of computer science student teacher; challenges and possible panacea. As a descriptive research, the study population comprised all public senior secondary schools in Edo State, Nigeria. 100 respondents were purposively selected. The methods of selection were also by multi-stage and stratified random sampling techniques.

The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire while the data collected were analyzed using percentages. The findings revealed that the problem of negative attitude of fellow in-service teacher in the local schools and even secondary school students was also seen as challenge to the student teachers.

It was recommended that Studies could be carried out on the effective use of instructional methods in teaching computer science in secondary schools. And concerted efforts should be made at improving the level of discipline among students through counseling services in the schools.
