ABSTRACT
The objective of the study was to teacher’s perception on problems of oral expression in English Language among senior secondary school students. To achieve this objective, the random sampling methods was used to draw responses from respondents. The questionnaire served as the research Instrument. After the questionnaires were returned, it was revealed that home background, low fluency, fear of making mistakes in pronunciation, and the frequent occurrence of mother tongue go a long way in affecting oral expression. Also, it was concluded that students affected with these problems identified do not participate in extra- curricular activities, they cannot answer questions correctly without making mistakes, they do not assume leadership role in school, and they are very convenient speaking their mother tongue.
