ABSTRACT

This study examined teacher’s classroom management effectiveness in public secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and examined. Data was collected from one hundred and eight (108) respondents randomly selected from four secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. An analysis of data was done using mean score. Criterions mean score of 2.50 was used as selection criterion.

The findings from the study include that there is high level of teachers’ effectiveness in classroom management in single and mixed secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. It was concluded that there is high level of male and female teachers’ effectiveness in classroom management in public secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. It was therefore recommended among others that conference, workshops, seminars and other in-service programmes should be regularly organized for teachers to acquaint them with latest innovations in classroom management.
