Abstract

 This study was carried out to identify Teachers’ Awareness level on the precautionary measure against the Negative influence of Multimedia on early childhood Education pupils. The research was carried out as a survey research using relevant literature from journals, magazines, books and the internet. Four research questions were raised and analyzed for the purpose of the study. A random sampling technique was used in selection of 50 Early Childhood teachers drawn from various primary schools in Egor Local Government Area. The data were collected with questionnaire instrument and analyzed using simple percentage. The result revealed that; ECE teachers in the schools of study are aware of the Negative influence of Multimedia on early childhood Education,ECE teachers are very much aware of precautionary measures against the Negative impacts of Multimedia devices on Child Education. And to a very high extent, ECE teachers apply the precautionary measure while using multimedia in instruction. Based on the results, it was recommended that educators should use professional judgment in evaluating and using technology and media, just as they would with any other learning tool or experience, and they must emphasize active engagement rather than passive, noninteractive uses. To achieve balance in their programs and classrooms, they should weigh the costs of technology, media, and other learning materials against their program’s resources, and they also should weigh the use of digital and electronic materials against the use of natural and traditional materials and objects, support for early childhood professionals is critically important. Educators need available, affordable, and accessible technology and media resources as well as access to research findings, online resources and links, and a professional community of practice. Preservice and professional development opportunities should include in-depth, hands-on technology experiences, ongoing support, and access to the latest technology tools and interactive media, also, the Ministry of Education and professional organizations like STAN should organize workshops, seminars, and conferences for teachers, especially on how to manage multimedia Aids and limit its negative effects.
