ABSTRACT
This study was designed to carry out the survey of teacher and students’ relationship in teaching and learning of economics in senior secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. This study reviewed works of several authors. To guide the study, five research questions were raised which are outlined thus: Does teacher-student relationship in teaching of economies in senior secondary schools’ influence students’ adjustment in school? Does teacher-student relationship in teaching of economies in senior secondary motivate students to study? Does teacher-student relationship in teaching of economies in senior secondary make students free to participate in class? Does teacher-student relationship encourage student personal in economics study? Do students perceive that teacher-student relationship influences their achievement in the teaching and learning off Economics? The population of the study consist of all senior secondary school students in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo state. There are thirteen (13) secondary schools in the local government areaThe size of the sample used was two hundred (200) students that were selected from five (5) schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo state. The sample random sampling technique was employed to select students for the study The following are the findings, The students like when they are friendly with their teacher, their relationship between them and their teacher has a positive influence in the academic achievement which encourage them to perform better in class, the students disagree that their teacher is harsh on them during his class and lesson. And the following are recommended; The study will enhance a close relationship between teachers and their students which will influence academic achievement. The Teachers should allow student to be open to them concerning any issued that may influence their academic achievement.
