ABSTRACT
In light of our findings, it is evident that efficient tax management is paramount for governments to sustain and expand their revenue generation. Striking a balance between taxpayer compliance, enlightenment of tax payers, Staffing and training of the tax collectors and having an effective administrative system is crucial. Numerous obstacles exist that affect tax administration and its impact on revenue generation in Edo State, stemming from both internal factors and external influences. The researcher dedicated considerable effort to thoroughly examine the influence of tax administration on revenue generation, aligning with the study’s objectives. This included conducting extensive reviews of related literature, gathering, collecting, and analyzing data. The findings were then utilized to assess the hypotheses, determining whether they should be accepted or rejected. This unveiled certain challenges that impede the board’s efficient operation, including issues like tax evasion and avoidance, a shortage of relevant training and incentives for tax officials, and ineffective management approaches, among others.
