ABSTRACT
The study examined Tax and Revenue Social Economic Development in Edo State. The research was conducted with the objectives of determining the effects of tax and revenue on the social economic development in Edo State, and to determine if taxation has positive impact on Economic development. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. The population of the study was made up of the staff of Egor Local Government Area of Edo State which stands as 194. The study relied heavily on the primary and secondary data where questionnaire were used as instrument for collecting primary data. Findings from the study show a positive and significant relationship between tax revenue and social economic development. The study also discovered that tax and revenue has impact on social economic development, The study therefore recommend a useful insight for stakeholders, government, and policy makers into the importance of tax revenue for economic development as a result; income derived from tax should be prudently used for social economic development if we must encourage citizens to continue to pay tax.
