ABSTRACT
This study is conducted to examine the products from the synthesis of 5-Amine-8-methoxyquinoline.
8-hydroxyquinoline was measured and reacted with potassium carbonate an methyl iodide to synthesize 8-methoxyquinoline by a process known as methylation.
The product obtained from the synthesis include 8-methoxyquinoline, 5-nitro-8-methoxyquinoline and 5-amine-8-methoxyquinoline.
The purity of these compounds were confirmed by verifying their boiling point, melting points and retention factors of the compounds.
