ABSTRACT
Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is effectively used as a bio implant material because it closely resembles bone apatite and exhibits good biocompatibility. In this study hydroxyapatite was characterized and prepared by precipitation method using calcium nitrate and diammonium phosphate with malonic acid as template and the HAp was characterized using SEM.from the SEM micrograph the synthesize HAp particles showed uniform morphology which are formed in large quantities, Micro-sized rectangular crystals were seen in the prepared samples at a pH 7.Upon further increasing the pH to 9, the rectangular crystal structure changed to a sponge-like structure and pH11 showed immature particles developed in one direction with increased rate of HAp formation.
