SUNDRY USES OF BAMBOO STEMS EARLIER USED AS SCAFFOLDS IN EDO STATE, NIGERIA

ABSTRACT

This Study was carried out to evaluate the further usage of bamboo stems after been used as scaffolds in building constructions. The Study was carried out within the confines of Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Two   types of questionnaires were administered, questionnaire A and B. Questionnaire A was administered to stands of sellers selling bamboo stems and questionnaire B was administered to users using bamboo stems for scaffolds in building constructions. A total of 40 questionnaire were administered in two local government areas, 11 was administered in Egor and 29 was administered in Oredo local Government areas respectively by random sampling. After the survey it was observed that bamboo stems after been used as scaffold can be applied to sundry uses aside been used as scaffold alone.
