ABSTRACT
This study evaluated the performance of four different insulation materials commonly used in isothermal boxes designed to maintain a specific temperature range of 2-8 degrees Celsius for up to two days. Real-world temperature data from Lagos was incorporated into a simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics software to model and analyse the thermal behaviour of the insulation box. After testing, Polyurethane was the most effective insulation material for two days to maintain the desired temperature range. This research provides valuable insights into selecting insulation materials for temperature-sensitive storage and transportation, offering practical guidance for industries where precise temperature control is essential for product integrity and quality assurance.
