ABSTRACT
The study investigated Students’ Perception on the Factors that enhance Teaching Practice Exercise in the Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and examined. The sample size for the study was made up of 200 final year students selected from four (4) Departments in the Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City. The questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. An analysis of data was done using mean score and standard deviation.
The findings from the study include that there is positive Perception of Students towards Teaching Practice Exercise in Faculty of Education, University of Benin. It was concluded that subject mastery, availability of resources and conducive learning environment all constituted Students’ Perception on the Factors that enhance Teaching Practice Exercise in the Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City.
The study among others recommended that student-teachers should only be assigned subjects based on their area of specialization during teaching practice exercise as this will go a long way towards boosting student-teacher’s confidence in the classroom.
