ABSTRACT
The study investigated student's perception of the University of Benin Mathematics Education Programme. Six research questions guided the study.
The sample of the study comprised of 28 students of the University of Benin Mathematics Education students. The data from the survey was analyzed using descriptive statistics, frequency, mean and standard deviation and the chi square statistic was used to test the four hypothesis.
Based on the study, it was recommend that in faculty of education, in order for students to have interest in learning Mathematics, the curriculum should be reviewed to suit the present needs of students and Mathematics Education students should be taking courses that are relevant to them at each level, this will curb taking of lower courses in higher class since this make them feel inferior among other students.
