Landscape in an educational environment is aimed at creating a less tedious atmospherefor students as students go through considerable amount of stress. This study investigated students’ perception landscape architecture around the faculties of the University of Benin by evaluating their awareness level, perception, attitude, practices anduses.
The survey focused on collecting data about the viewpoints of the students regarding the existence of landscape elements around their faculties, state of their current landscape, users experiences and possible alterations that could made to landscape around their faculty through the quantitative survey method and the results were analyzed statistically to show the level at which they perceive landscape and landscape architecture. From the study it was discovered that although, awareness level and attitude were good, the students had a negative practice in the use of landscape elements. There is a general negligence on the part of student in maintaining landscape designed to assist them and negligence on the part of the school management in maintaining the landscape around students’ faculties.
