ABSTRACT

The study examined the students attituded and perceptions in the context of implementing inclusive education at project Charilove group of special school.The purpose was fulfilled through using four research questions raised to guide the study.The study followed survey design whereby quantitative technique was applied. The data were collected through questionnaires using a random sample of one hundred respondents.A questionnaire was raised to gather information from the respondents.The reliability of the instrument was determined through test-retest reliability index of 0.86.The questionnaire was distributed by hand and collected immediately after completion.The Data was analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The findings revealed that students have a prevailing negative attitude and perception regarding their peers with special needs and that collaborative learning as an inclusive education strategy has a positive effect on students attitude and perception of their peers with special needs.The study recommended that seminars/workshops should be organized to educate and enlighten all students in Project Charilove on attitude and perception towards people with special needs.The study also recommends providing teacher training in inclusive teaching practices,differentiation strategies and effective communication with students with disabilities.
