Abstract
The research examines students’ attitude towards patronizing counselling services in university of Benin. The variables of the study are students’ attitudes towards patronizing counselling services, age and sex differences of students attitudes towards patronizing counselling services. The survey research was adopted for the study because it collected information from respondents.
Students in the Faculty of Education formed the population of the study. The sample was drawn using simple Random Selection and 55 males and 45 females were selected for the research. The research instrument was designed to elicit information on Students’ Attitude Towards Patronizing Counselling Services in University of Benin. There were 2 sections in the questionnaire, and it contained section A which consists of the students bio-data (sex and age) and section B which consists of students attitudes towards patronizing counselling services. The instrument was validated by the project supervisor and two other experts in the field of Guidance and Counselling. It was also found to have high reliability, with a coefficient of 0.869.
Based on the findings that emerged from the study, the result showed that the attitude of students towards patronizing counsellingb4ysr4e services in university of Benin is positive and irrespective of age and sex students in University of Benin have a positive attitude towards patronizing counselling services.
