ABSTRACT

In this project, we developed a web application to assist students searching for Industrial Training Placement to easily get information of available ITF compliant organizations view their profile and send applications from the comfort of their homes. The application is designed using mainly the Java technology, it is designed as a web application so it can run on browsers, as a result, the user interfaces are developed using web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. The application logic is developed using Java beans and Java Servlet. The application is designed using the Model-View-Controller approach (MVC). The data persistent layer is maintained using the MySQL relational database. The portal developed will ease the stress students go through in trying to secure I.T. placement, this will ensure that students begin their I.T on time at the commencement of the I.T period. Also, some start up organizations might be in need of I.T. students but they lack some of the incentives to enable them get one. For example, some start up organizations might not have a website to display vacancies, they might also not have enough funds to publish vacancies in the news media. This motivates me to develop a portal that can expose such start up organizations to I.T. students.
