ABSTRACT
3D seismic Data interpretation of Xynth’s Field was carried out on schlumberger petrel software with seismic data obtained fromShell Petroleum Development Company under the permission of the Department of Petroleum Resources. Interpretation procedures included; loading of Data, Generation of Semblance map, Mapping of Horizon, Fault interpretation, Surface Generation, Amplitude Extraction, Trap identification and Prospect Ranking. The schlumberger Petrel software was used to delineate faults on the interpretation window and generate them on semblance map for easy interpretation. Horizon tracking was done by picking a good and continuous reflector for reliability and tracked all through the field. Trap mechanisms and structural styles (rollover anticlines and simple anticlines) were defined on the surface map Zone A, B, C, D and E and with amplitude support potential prospects were identified. Zone A is the highest ranking prospect.
