STREET HAWKING AMONG CHILDREN; A MAJOR CONTRIBUTION OF CHILD LABOUR

ABSTRACT

Street hawking among children; which is a major contribution of child labour in Nigeria, is an act were by a child is being sent to the street, or market places to hawk Street hawking by children is an act which need to be put to an end. Children selling on the street is a big issue all over the world, be it developing or undeveloped world. It's not any good. It is not limited to children's hawking; there are causes and implications on society as a whole. Regardless of the reasons and effects of youngsters hawking on the streets of many areas of the world, governments, parents, and sponsors can implement potential treatments and solutions to address the difficult situation. The purpose of this research is to visually represent the struggle, pitiable condition which children go through in their everyday life. Using a girl child between the age of 12 years old. This sculpture project is to produce a sculpture expanding the knowledge of its viewers on the issue of child labour. The researcher was able to established the structure with the use of concrete (cement). This project was executed through the construction of armature, welding the armature. The sculpture which is 7 feet tall, exercise would include various stages and steps and from add the first layer of cement to the last layer
