ABSTRACT
This research examines how managerial strategies are employed to achieve success in traditional African festival performance. Using Ekaba festival of Urhonigbe as an example, the research examines how managerial strategies are employed to manage music and dance in the festival to achieve the yearly recorded success despite its elaborate nature. Primary and secondary research methodologies were adopted to gather necessary data. The study observed that the success of the festival is due to the strict adherence of the guiding principles of operation which if violated attracts severe sanctions from the community. This has kept citizens in order since its practice. The research recommends Ekaba method of operation for other festival/ceremonies to enhance adequate success.
