ABSTRACT
This project is basically to find strategies that can be used to increase audience attendance in the theatre. The method adopted for collecting data for this research was the survey method, with questionnaire as the instrument. The main objective is to find out the reasons people no longer visit the theatre like they use to as well as find ways to resolve the issues. The theory use in this research was the source credibility theory and uses and gratification theory. Based on the analysis, the result showed that the major reasons people no longer attend theatre event is as a result of inconvenient show time, lack of awareness, poor house management, and high cost of tickets and location of the theatre. From the findings it has shown that the theatre management team have a huge role to play in rejuvenating the theatre. They need to work on their publicity, marketing strategies, house management, creating special promotion tactics like pre-show talks, meet-and-greets with actors, Post-show-talks amongst others.
