ABSTRACT

The study investigate the strategies adopted by principals for enhancing community participation in funding and management of secondary school in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. The purpose of this study for to find out the strategies used by principals for enhancing of community participation in funding of secondary school, the contributions of community in the management of secondary schools, what are the challenges faced in community participation in the management of secondary schools, the ways community participation could be enhanced and policies and measures could be initiated by government to increase community participation in the management of secondary schools. The population consist of principals, teachers and community representation of 5 selected schools in Egor with a total population of 305. This study was analyzed using mixed method which is the questionnaire as primary source and the interview as the qualitative source. Five research question were used to guide the study and the mean method was used for data analysis.
