ABSTRACT

The findings of this study on State and non-state actors: sit at home order in perspective of onitsha North and onitsha south local government area of Anambra state achieved the aim and objectives of the study. The research questions were also answered. This case study offers valuable insights into the dynamics of state-non-state actor relations in contemporary Nigeria. The following conclusions were deducted from this research, it highlights the challenges of maintaining order in the face of non-state actors wielding influence through intimidation. The imposition of sit-at-home orders in Onitsha, Anambra State, presents a complex interplay between the authority of the state and the influence of non-state actors. The Anambra State Government, under Governor Soludo, has taken a firm stance against these orders, declaring them illegal and urging residents to disregard them. This highlights the state's desire to maintain control over public order and economic activity. Where as the origin of these orders lies with non-state actors, possibly separatist groups (IPOB). These groups leverage fear and intimidation to enforce compliance, disrupting daily life and commerce.
