ABSTRACT
The study examined staff-upgrade and its impact on employees’ productivity at the delta state ministry of lands and survey (2013 to 2023). The objectives of the study include the following: to ascertain the levels of engagement of employee via training for optimum employee performance in Delta State Ministry of Lands and Survey, to investigate the different training programmes at Delta State Ministry of Lands and Survey, to examine the barriers of effective employee training for optimum employee performance in Delta State Ministry of Lands and Survey, and suggest possible ways and recommendations in which Delta State Ministry of Lands and Survey can achieve optimum staff-upgrade for maximum organizational performance. The study adopted survey research design. In order to determine the importance of training and development on staff of Delta State Ministry of Lands and Survey, a total of 150 persons were randomly surveyed. It included 20 management staff, 20 senior staff and 110 junior staff respectively. The field survey employed the use of simple random sampling technique. The instrument used for the collection of data was the questionnaire which was administered to the study sampled respondents. The data collected was analyzed using simple percentage analytical method.The study observed amongst others that; Delta State Ministry of Lands and Survey training programmes has helped in molding your career for effectiveness and efficiency, the study also noticed that, Delta State Ministry of Lands and Survey training programmes have helped in molding their staff for effectiveness and efficiency. Furthermore, policy recommendations were adopted which include amongst others that since training is a planning intervention that is designed to enhance the determinants of individual employee performance, the management should organize regular training programmes for employees’ in the organization because inadequate training programme is a challenge identified in the organization.
