ABSTRACT
In present scenarios, employee training is widely considered as the source of gaining competitive advantage. However, employee training on staff performance in Benson Idahosa university industry remains largely unexamined in the African context. This paper investigates the employee training and staff performance using Benson Idahosa University as a case study. The majority of governmental, private organization and international organizations are not recognizing importance of training to increase their employee's productivity. Population of 500 hundred staff were used 50 questionnaire were shared to staff. The results from the data analysis indicated that, although some Employees are not aware of and are not involved in the training programmers’, majority of the employees reported that, they Are aware of and are involved in various training programmers. The results also showed that, training programmers in Benson Idahosa University is not frequent. Results from the chi-squared analysis suggested that, there is moderately strong Relationship between staff training and performance. Employee training has a huge effect on staff performance. It is recommended -Benson Idahosa University employee should be trained on off-the-job training bases in other for them to be effective; they should be taken aboard for frequent training. The current level of training in Benson Idahosa University is in an average level, hence it should develop more training scheme for it employees in order to acquaint them to innovation and changes in the educational sector.
