ABSTRACT
This study evaluated the land use and land cover changes in Iguobazuwa Forest Reserve of Edo state Nigeria. Remote sensing and GIS techniques were used. The landsat imagery was done for 1986 to 2023 and was used for quantitative analysis and assessment. In 1986, dense forest lost about 13.41 km2 to built- up area and 12 km2 to sparse vegetation. Eventually it has been realized from this study that deforestation has not stopped but has continued to reduce the dense forest from 51.34 km2 to 12.34 km2 in 2023 which may likely continue if nothing is done.
