ABSTRACT
The impact of internet to the development of Nigeria had been marred by the activities cybercrime. Cybercrime had emerged as a concrete threat not only in Nigeria but to the entire world. The high level of fraudulent act on the internet had become worrisome so much that transactions on the web have become a thing of doubt. The aim of this study is to examine socio-religious approach in curbing cybercrime in Nigerian. This study discovered that religious frown against manipulation of people through fraudulent act and also find out that religious has the potential to removed ill behavior and introduced good character into the society. The research also find out that religious leader activities sustained the act of cybercrime in Nigeria. This research recommended that the government should collaborate with religious leader in combating cybercrime and government and other related stakeholder of the Nigerian Economy should create more job opportunities for the young graduates in order to alleviate their involvement in cybercrime. Also, there should be massive campaign and sensitization exercise against the menace of cybercrime which should be encouraged and supported by stakeholders.
