Abstract
This research delves into the multifaceted issue of domestic violence within Ayobo Community, shedding light on the prevalent attitudes, experiences, and awareness levels surrounding the topic. Drawing from primary data collected from respondents, the study offers a comprehensive analysis of demographic factors, awareness levels, prevalent cultural norms, and the community's response to victims. The findings reveal a commendable level of awareness among a significant portion of the community. However, there exists a contrasting segment that is yet to be fully informed, underscoring the need for targeted awareness campaigns. The study further identifies the relative absence of dedicated local organizations or individuals actively working towards rehabilitating domestic violence victims, signaling an urgent need for intervention. Substance abuse, socio-cultural dynamics, and economic factors emerge as significant contributors to domestic violence within the community. The research culminates in a set of actionable recommendations, emphasizing community training, establishment of social work and support centres legal reforms, and economic empowerment programs. This study underscores the need for collective action, aiming to transform Ayobo into a safe haven, free from the shadows of domestic violence. keywords: Domestic Violence, Ayobo, Social works, intervention.
